Environmental Management Certification

Since 2006, the company adheres to the environmental management system of the International Organization for Standardization ISO 14001.

The International Organization for Standardization is an independent non-governmental organization that brings together experts to develop voluntary standards based on best practices and perspectives. The 14000 series of standards provides practical, effective tools for managing environmental processes.

In 2018, the Company began to switch to the ISO 14001: 2015 environmental management standard, covering all Tatneft Group enterprises. At this stage, the fundamental documents are updated, a standard procedure for risk management and internal audit of the management system is developed, a matrix of the main business processes in the field of HSE, quality control of the implementation of the requirements of the standards at enterprises (audits) is carried out.

The company carries out constructive interaction and an open dialogue with interested parties on environmental safety and maintaining a favorable environment.

We integrate the fair interests of all interested parties and take them into account in the planning and implementation of our activities.

Since 2006, the Company, at the level of Management, taking into account the views of stakeholders, has been conducting an annual assessment of the materiality of environmental aspects and their impact on social factors and the state of the environment in the territories of its operations. This allows you to identify problems that can have a significant impact on the Company’s sustainability indicators, including long-term prospects.

The company takes an active position in the implementation of state and international initiatives in the development of environmental legislation, standards, and environmental programs and interacts in accordance with these initiatives with stakeholders in order to contribute to their maximum effectiveness.

In accordance with the obligation of the Company to maintain an open dialogue with all interested parties on the environmental protection activities of the Company, it interacts with the media, conducts environmental press tours to the Company’s facilities, illuminates technological processes in an accessible form, and publishes the results of an environmental audit.

Impact assessment

The environmental assessment process allows us to identify, evaluate, manage and monitor environmental and social risks and potential consequences throughout the life cycle of our assets.

New and ongoing projects are undergoing processes to assess their potential impact on the environment, the socio-economic situation and the health of workers and the local population.

The next step is the formation of program actions and action plans on environmental and socio-economic aspects, as well as medical control, which will be applied during the development and implementation of projects with the aim of eliminating environmental and social risks, reducing them to acceptable levels and, if they occur eliminating the consequences.

The company seeks to guarantee an effective understanding of the environmental impact of production activities and to ensure a reasonable level of impact that does not exceed acceptable standards and aims to reduce environmental impact below acceptable standards.

Formation of ecological culture and professional training in the field of environmental protection

The company provides a high level of control of compliance with the competencies of specialists in the field of environmental safety and environmental protection, realizing on an ongoing basis an increase in professional training and knowledge on targeted programs.

The Company is also included in the Rating of fundamental effectiveness of enterprises in the Oil and Gas industry group with an assessment of the transparency of the indicators disclosed by the Company for 2018 of -99.9%.
